About Me

I am a graduate of Columbia University and Yale Medical School (MD). After medical school, I received residency training at Stanford University Hospital, Palo Alto, California, The Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University, Montreal, Canada and The McAuley Neuropsychiatric Institute in San Francisco, California. Additionally, I graduated from The University of New Hampshire Law School (JD) and was selected and graduated from Harvard Law School’s graduate school Visiting Scholar program.

From 1999 -2014 I served as the Chief Consulting Psychiatrist for the Greenwich, Connecticut Board of Education as well as maintaining a private practice. I currently practice in Wailea, Hawaii as Founder and Chairman of Psychiatry at Maui Psychiatry, LLC.

In my free time, I ride horses and play polo. I also enjoy music and play piano and guitar. Additionally, I study Tibetan Buddhism.

Dennis Banks, MD, JD, Is Founder and Chairman of Maui Psychiatry, LLC. The psychiatry practice is prepared to diagnose, treat and manage the most challenging of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety disorders, gender dysphoria, schizophrenia, ,eating disorders, OCD, borderline personality disorder and transcultural issues. All treatment modalities are considered.
